Dating Your Work

WordPress & WPFolio use dates to organize your work chronologically.

“But what about everything I did prior to setting up this site?” You can pre-date your past work to the date you completed it and we recommend it. Here’s how.

  1. When writing a post there is a section named Publish Status just to the right of the post editor.
  2. There is a choice, “Publish Immediately” with a hyperlink that says Edit. Click the Edit link.
  3. You can now edit the day, month, year and even time of the post. If a piece of work was completed in 2002 enter “2002″ into the year field.
  4. This way people can navigate your work chronologically as well as using any other means of organization you choose (i.e. categories, tags, taxonomies, etc).

That’s all there is to it.

Note: you can also date things in the future for publishing when the time arrives!

Woah woah woah! Thinking about leaving a comment? If it starts anything like "How do you…" or "I can't figure out..." then head over to the WPFolio Support Article and read through it. Posting on WordPress Support is usually a better idea.

If you're going to post a comment, consider making a donation at the same time.
